Long a critic of approaches to business change that failed to give weight and resource to change strategy and people development, David, pioneered the thinking that has become, with the help of three co-developers, the globally recognised 8 Omega Business Change Framework.
His advocacy at the BPMG 3rd Annual Conference in 1995, that “….the term Business Process Management refers to the understanding, design, execution and optimisation of enterprise- wide business activities that incorporate people, processes, systems and strategy”, helped shape the direction of the BPTG to this day.
The 8 Omega Framework for Business Process Transformation, is an innovative approach from the designed to help organizations address the diverse issues of enterprise-wide change. 8 Omega was developed and is provided as an open-access resource by the BPTGroup including the 8 Omega Framework, the 8 Omega Organizational Readiness and Competency Assessement (ORCA) and the BPT Lifecycle.
David is a career-long Business Change professional - early practical experience as a process engineer in manufacturing, line management responsibility and industrial relations arbitration roles was followed by diverse consultancy assignments in engineering, banking, insurance and the wider financial sector, local and central government, government agencies, textiles, plastics. His project management experience, business analysis and change management expertise provide the depth and relevance behind the Advanced Professional Qualifications for Business Change Professionals, the Level 7 (1 st degree equivalent) qualification structure he has pioneered within the BPTG. He is responsible for the development of the international accreditation status of the BPTG training programs. As a result of this work David has been invited to work with Exeter University School of Management, incorporating BPT training into their Masters program.
What the Delegates have said ;
""Excellent. Really presented the material well, with many personal examples to support the material""
British Telecom, 2005
""Comprehensive material taken through by tutor who had excellent knowledge and experience of the material and many real life scenarios which helped our understanding""
“A most refreshing blend of sound structure and logical theory, enthusiastically presented in a lucid and pragmatic way. It is unusual to hear someone so aware of the vital role of people and the politics of change, let alone justify so convincingly their core importance in the 8 Omega framework approach”
Financial Services Process Professional – Warwick 2006
"This has been one of the most enjoyable and relevant classes that I have ever taken. Our king’s edict 40 presented our government services with major challenges – I now feel much better prepared to deal with them
Saudi Arabian government departmental IT director – Riyadh, March 2007
“I really got a lot out of this course and, like my Business Analysis manual (from and earlier change professional programme with David) which I still use, I'm sure I'll make good use of this approach to BPM. Anecdotes and real life examples, as always, work so well plus having a varied delegate base, brought good breadth to the course”
Business Change Professional, major UK Bank, London February 2007
The theory is sound but it is his practical experience that authenticates even the more contentious elements of his approach

I would just like to thank you very much for the course that I attended last week in London. I found the course well organised and having had time to study the Course Presentation notes appreciate the structure and presentations. It was good fun too and I am hoping that I will remain in contact with some of the delegates from the course.
Many thanks for sharing your expertise and stories in the world of BPM.
London , May 2007
I wanted to let you know that the BPM course we just attended was one of the best courses that I've attended on any subject. I can now say that I've had the distinct pleasure of learning a few things from an expert and someone who can make learning and understanding the subject so much fun and enjoyable. Thank you for making a difference.
Tameez Ansari, Dubai 2007
